We decided that the water had become somewhat dangerous after the Armadillo Crab and decided to go home. But we did have a lot of fun!

Day at the Beach
We took the kids to the beach this weekend. It was nice, we haven't been since the summer of Katrina. Things look different there but they have bounced back quickly all things considering. As for Marine Life I guess they have yet to rebuild but from what we saw today there is no need. The kids and Ronnie caught guppies & crabs ( which we did throw back into the water). Then there was a jellyfish and the thing that looked similar to a stingray. I am sure it wasn't b/c when we turned it over it resembled a crab. People were coming over to see all that we attracted and that included the beach patrol! We asked them if they knew what it was, I am still not sure if he was joking when he called it an armadillo crab!

The cutest thing
We were getting ready to leave this morning and Caleb was being himself running around the house getting into everything, and Luke just says the cutest prayer out loud. It went something like this. " Jedus pease come into Cayub's heawt" It was so sweet. I guess he thought that if Jesus came into his heart that Caleb would be a little calmer?! It is amazing what they can understand at such a young age!

Back to "Normal"
I feel like life has just today turned back to normal again. We had a very long, hot but none the less wonderful week. It was the World Series for Jacob. Ronnie was off of work for 10 days, my mom was here and we had ball games ALL week long. Jacob and his team ended up coming in 3rd place which they were very depressed about, they won State a few weeks ago and won the World Series last year and they are a very good team and had a great All-Star season! But as you can tell on Jacob's face 3 rd place was not good enough for him. I think they are awesome and did a wonderful job, they played their hearts out in this extreme heat!

Of course the week wasn't complete without going to the dr ( Isaac had an ear infection) and then Caleb caught the stomache bug that according to my dr is going around right now, but thankfully it only lasts 12 hours!
My mom left Friday, and she was a great help. She stayed home with the kids when Jacob had a game so that I can, for once, enjoy the games without visiting the concessions 20 times during a game or hearing" I'm hot" or "is it over yet?'"She was great! Thanks mom!!!
Ronnie went back to work today and I am surprisingly sad about it. Normally it is a nice change for him to go back to work but it was also nice having him home!
So while baseball is over for now, Matt and Jake are still in summer basketball, Matt is practicing football at his school and we just signed Ashley,Isaac and Eric up for soccer. Jake's football sign ups are this weekend! So we will be busy all to soon again with sports, so I will enjoy the "break"!!!

It was a set up
Last night, Ronnie and I were having a conversation ( a very rare thing before 9:30 these days) in the dining room. A few moments later , with my "mommy radar" I heard cabinet drawers open from the bathroom. This is someting else I have been having trouble with Caleb with. He loves going in the bathroom and playing, in the toilet , in the drawers or whatever he can get those tiny little hands on. So I have made it my pet peave to tell the kids to close the bathroom door behind them, I will even check it out throughout the day. If you know me pretty well, you know that I have just a touch of OCD :)
So when I heard the drawers slamming last night I immediately thought "Caleb", since he was not in the room with us at that moment, another rare thing! So I, without a thought in my head dropped the conversation, and took off running! Now I hate toys in the living room. You would not think that this would be an issue for me seeing I have 7 kids but it is. Well Caleb had brought in a toy, I didn't know or else I would have either picked it up or at least not have stepped on it as I was running just bringing myself to the ground!!!! I am not sure I have taken a fall like that since I was a child! Even through agonizing pain, I still hollared "Where is Caleb?" Wouldn't you know, he was with Ashley playing in his room! The child was never even in the bathroom, it was Luke brushing his teeth!!! I just thought ok this feels like a "set up"! Caleb brought out the toy left it in just the right place then a noise was made as if from him! I don't really think that a 15 month old can set that up, but do you see the coincidence?
I spent the rest of the evening on the sofa with my foot propped up with ice and a heating pad! I knew that the baby inside of me was ok cause he never stopped moving! Still moving this morning, too! I can walk this morning I am just a little sore.

Psalm 95 1-7
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
3 For the LORD is the great God the great king above all gods.
4 In his hands are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come let us bow down and worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.
How great is our God!!
The ONE who set the universe into motion has not only done so but continues to do so. He did not set everything then walk away from it patting his hands together as to get some dust off of them. These verses remind me that God is in control over all things, all the time and deserves honor and praise.
What a mighty God we serve!!

15 years ago today

Ronnie and I have known each other all of our lives. Our families attended the same church. Our families were quite close but we were not really. There was a 4 year difference between us, and when you are young that is HUGE! As time went on, me 14 him almost 18 (still huge, I know) We noticed each other, finally. We were just friends at first, talking often and spending alot of time together. But on June 20,1993, Father's Day,( didn't realize then the significance of it, fathers day, him eventually becoming a dad of 8 kids!) I was at home our family was packing for a family vacation, Ronnie stopped by to ask me if we could start dating. And the rest is history.
We could have never seen it coming. Just the 2 of us has now turned into just the 10 of us! God has truly blessed us beyond measure!

Climbing Caleb
Caleb has just discovered that he can climb and on EVERYTHING!!! First thing this mornng he climbed on the rocker.
Though THIS time all he wanted to do was chill by his big sis!
Time to go outside. And climb again.....and again
He is enjoying himself!
Then there is Mom's favorite climb. The climb to her lap for a nice 2 hour nap!
Til we climb again!
He was so proud of himself when he got up there!
Next it was the sofa! Oh the sofa, the biggest issue of the day! He is always trying to get up there. He makes me soooo nervous!Til we climb again!
